So , What should you choose Thermistor , PT100 or PT1000 Probes? , well the answer is a Thermistor probe....if only it were that simple! this is a complex question but we can help that decision if the type of probe needs to be chosen.

Thermistor probes
Thermistor probes are cheap accurate and robust. Thermistors react exponentially to temperature , this is more apparent over larger temperature ranges.
The reference resistance stated with the thermistor e.g. 10kΩ means 10kΩ at 25°C

PT100 Probes and PT1000 Probes
The PT100 and PT1000 are referenced at 0°C Celsius meaning 100Ω a 0°C and 1000Ω at °C.
PT are considered linear especially when compared to Thermistors, although one can argue that upon closer inspection they are not.
PT100 and PT1000 are known for their superior accuracy and ease of integration however this impact cost , they are generally more expensive than Thermistors.
