TDI340
The TDI340 is a Modbus RTU S0 Pulse Counter Module. Up to 63 nodes can be connected back to a Modbus Master device. It features screwless terminal blocks for both the monitoring side and Modbus Network for easy daisy-chaining on an RS485 Modbus RTU network, making it a robust solution for pulse counting
Modbus Pulse Counter Description
The TDI340 is an S0 pulse counter featuring a Modbus RTU interface and four isolated digital inputs that comply with the S0 standard 62053-31.It offers flexible counting in polling or edge modes, with the latter supporting rising, falling, or both edges. The device essentially functions as four independent counters, storing data in non-volatile memory to prevent loss. Beyond raw pulse counts, it provides registers for calculated physical values, enabling direct recording of metrics like energy, water, or gas. Additionally, it offers simultaneous readings of digital input states (OPEN/CLOSE).
For enhanced pulse filtering, the TDI340 allows independent, user-configurable delays (0 to 656 seconds in 10ms steps) for Low-To-High and High-To-Low transitions when in polling mode. Its broad supply voltage range of 5 to 30 volts makes it highly adaptable for diverse industrial applications.
TDI340 S0 pulse counter Installation Guide
The installation process involves mounting the device, connecting it to the RS-485 bus, attaching inputs, supplying
power, and configuring it through the master.
Warning! Power off before wiring.
Ensure that wires are securely attached to terminals and tightened. Improper wiring or configuration can cause
permanent damage to TSV300 or connected equipment
According to modbus.org, the two-Wire MODBUS definition is:
“A MODBUS solution over a serial line should implement a “Two-Wire” electrical interface in accordance with
EIA/TIA-485 standard. On such a “Two-Wire” topology, at any time one driver only has the right for transmitting.
In fact, a third conductor must also interconnect all the devices of the bus - the common (ground).”
It is highly advisable to use a daisy-chain (linear) topology along with UTP/FTP cables when connecting multiple
sensors. To ensure the interface functions correctly, terminators (120-ohm resistors) must be installed at both
ends of the bus. The device comes equipped with a built-in 120-ohm resistor, and for bus termination, the
terminals "485-" and "Term" should be shortened.
